On December 9th fifty children from our local Oaklands Primary School visited WLIC as part of their Religious Education study. Having toured the various parts of the Centre, the children were given a special introduction to Islam; the role of the Mosque in community life, as a place of peace, reflection and prayer; and the constant message of faith, to be good, generous, considerate and God conscious people. A lively and fun-filled question and answer time was only interrupted with the distracting arrival of fruit and juice for all!

Visit organiser, Ms Vanessa Kretzman said, ‘We really enjoyed the visit to the Mosque, everyone was very welcoming and hospitable. We enjoyed hearing about worship in the Mosque and particularly enjoyed seeing the prayer rooms for men and women. The children showed much interest and appreciated the opportunity to ask questions.’

We thank Oaklands Primary School for again allowing us the opportunity to host such an important learning and community building visit.
