Ramadan Kareem 2023

Please access the WLIC Ramadan 2023 Activity Calendar here. We pray that you and your family have a peaceful, productive and blessed Ramadan, which begins on Thursday 23rd of March. We ask Allah (swt) to protect us, cure us and accept our Siyam, Qiyam, Qur’an and Sadaqah in this exalted period, to attain His good favour and pleasure, with success in this life and the one to come.

“O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you as it has been prescribed for people before you so that you attain Taqwa (God consciousness).” [Al-Qur'an2:183]

'The fast and the Qur’an are two intercessors for the servant of Allah on the Day of Resurrection. The fast will say: ‘O Lord, I prevented them from their food and desires during the day. Let me intercede for them.' [Ahmad]

For a short treatise on making the most of this sacred period, please read this short treatise on Befriending Ramadan.

'Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful. And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped.' [Al-Qur'an 39:53-54]
