Green Guide for Muslims: Book Launch

'Those who squander are the brothers of satan, and satan is most ungrateful to his Lord' [Qur'an 17:27]

The Green Guide is unique in that it is a simple, practical handbook that looks at different aspects of the household and suggests changes from an Islamic prospective that can have a big impact on climate change. These include decisions about domestic food, water, laundry, heating, electricity, transport and recycling. Also at the end of the 20 page booklet is a green checklist that gives households something positive to aim towards.

Ustadh Amr Khaled and other guests will be present for the launch of the Green Guide for Muslims. The entrance fee is £10 per person and places must be booked in advance. There are limited spaces and allocation will be on a first come first served basis. Everyone is welcome except those under 6 years of age.

* Ustadh Amir Khaled is an Egyptian Muslim preacher. The New York Times Magazine has described him as "the world's most famous and influential Muslim televangelist." Amr Khaled has also recently been chosen as Number 13 of the world's most influential people by Time Magazine and Number 6 in the list of The World's Top 20 Public Intellectuals Foreign chosen by Policy Magazine 2008.

The Final Messenger of God said, 'If the whole world were to gather together to benefit you they would only benefit you with that which Allah had already written for you and if the whole world were to gather to harm you they could only harm you with that which Allah had already written to harm you. The pen has been lifted and the ink has dried (meaning everything has been decreed or settled)'. [At-Tirmithi]
